ImageStream Linux

ImageStream Linux runs on every ImageStream router. The ImageStream Linux distribution is a complete state-of-the-art router software system, which includes the Inetics driver component architecture, networking software, management systems, diagnostic utilities, and cloud services applications.

ImageStream Linux 5.0 introduces a powerful Web UI for router management, and a more flexible platform for cloud application licensing. In addition, 5.0 supports multiple IPv6 topologies, advanced QoS, and a wide range of cloud services applications designed to generate revenue for Internet service providers and telecommunications carriers. With these powerful features, ImageStream routers are ideally suited for deployment at the business premise, the customer edge, and as an Internet gateway.

ImageStream Linux 5.0 requires a minimum of 512 MB RAM and 4 GB flash to run. Routers like the Envoy and Envoy 1U are not upgradeable to the 5.0 distribution due to their fixed memory size, however the Envoy DSL can run 5.0 because it supports up to 512 MB. ImageStream routers that do not support 5.0 will still run ImageStream Linux 4.4, which includes a menu-driven management shell, and support for a wide range of WAN interfaces, WAN protocols, and other advanced features. The 4.4 management shell provides easy access to router configuration options, real-time port status, performance statistics, and automated software updates via the Internet.
